7 Smoothies that will give you Wonder Woman powers

I’m a fan of Wonder Woman and I believe in unicorns. Yes, my white 28-year-old ass believes in superheros and magical creatures. I also like to write. I may not be particularly good at it, but I believe I’m a kick ass writer. What’s your super power?

Some time ago, I wrote a post that outlined the only reasons you need protein powder. Yet today I’m writing about protein packed smoothies.

“What a hypocrite this girl Lana is!” you may think.

“I know, right!?” I can only add.

But, if you read that blog post, there is one reason that you might want to have protein powder handy. If your life is the perfect definition of a hot mess—that’s the reason. In other words, if you’re a busy bee, protein powder is your BFF.

However, protein powder by itself is boring and tastes like chalky poop. Therefore, today I combined my Wonder Woman and unicorn powers to create protein-packed smoothies to help you survive while you figure out your life. You’re welcome.

These smoothies are packed with super powers.

#1. Indestructible powers smoothie.

Raise your hand if you also despise the color pink? (And if you don’t, no worries, we still can be friends. Maybe.)

Despite its color, I like this smoothie because it’s packed with antioxidants from berries. What are antioxidants? These are yours Amazonian bracelets to stop bullets (free radicals that cause damage to your body.)

To make this smoothie, you’ll need:

♣ 1 banana
♣ 1 cup fresh strawberries
♣ 1 cup frozen blueberries
♣ 1 scoop protein
♣ 1 tablespoon chia seeds
♣ ½ to 1 cup ice cubes

#2. Super strength and speed smoothie

Not particularly fond of spinach? I feel you, homie. Spinach doesn’t taste good, but it’s packed with iron and fiber. Iron will give you super strength, like type Demeter gave to Wonder Woman. Fiber will move stuff down the colon as fast as her fist moves in Medusa’s face.

♣ ½ avocado
♣ ½ banana
♣ 1 cup spinach
♣ ¼ cup frozen mango
♣ 1 scoop protein powder
♣ 1 tablespoon honey
♣ ½ to 1 cup ice cubes
♣ 1 cup coconut milk (add more if you’d like your smoothie thinner)

#3. Wonder Beauty smoothie.

Remember that pink smoothie? Well I made it even less pink by adding some mango. I’m a genius, I know! But why mango? It’s believed that mango helps with glowing skin. Every time you drink this smoothie pretend like you got it from Aphrodite, who gave Wonder Woman her beauty.

♣ 1 frozen banana
♣ 1 cup frozen blueberries
♣ 1/2 cup frozen mangoes
♣ 2 scoops protein powder
♣ 1 cup coconut

#4. Sword Powers smoothie

If you like pink color, here is your chance to redeem yourself. If you want to be friends, you must like purple!

The big reason for the color is the amount of blueberries. These berries are packed with phytonutrients—think of them as a sword that fights against inflammation and cancer.

♣ 1 cup frozen blueberries
♣ ½ cup fresh blueberries
♣ ½ frozen banana
♣ 2 tablespoons chia seeds
♣ 1 cup milk of your choice
♣ 1 scoop of protein

#5. Hunter vision smoothie.

This drink is packed with vitamin A, which gives your eyes their strength.  Being a hunter at heart, Diana needed her vision to stay sharp. The smoothie also tastes like carrot cake. Just saying.

♣ 1 cup baby carrots
♣ ½ medium sweet potato, cooked
♣ ¼ cup
♣ Ice cubes
♣ 1 teaspoon honey
♣ 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
♣ 2 tbsp chia seeds
♣ dash of cinnamon and nutmeg

#6. Refreshing Drink of Amazons

I’m not sure about the temperature in the Black Sea region where Amazons lived, but this one is wicked good during supah haht Boston summah. (Bostonian accent is a must!)

♣ ½ cup frozen mango
♣ ½ frozen banana
♣ bunch of mint leaves
♣ ½ cucumber
♣ 2 cups spinach
♣ 1 scoop protein powder
♣ 1 cup almond milk
♣ splash lime juice

#7. Stamina of Wonder Woman smoothie.

If you want to possess Wonder Woman’s stamina, beets are your friends. Rumor has it, beets increase exercise longevity by improving tolerance to high-intensity exercises.

♣ 1 cup strawberries
♣ 1 cup raspberries
♣ 1/2 cup of beets (raw or cooked)
♣ 1 scoop protein powder
♣ 1 cup almond milk
♣ 2 tablespoons chia seeds
♣ 1-2 tablespoons honey
